At least once a week someone asks me when my family is going to have a TV show. Most of you know that I come from a very psychic family. My brother Michael is a well known psychic here in the Twin Cities along with my sister Nikki who is a spiritual healer and psychic medium. Our mom Mae was a gifted psychic/tarot reader and I too have psychic and healing gifts. Michael and I are best known in the media for our ghostbusting abilities. We’ve been in this business for fifty years.
Getting a TV show is not an easy task. First you need to come up with a production company that’s interested in you enough to invest five to ten thousand dollars into making what is called a Sizzle. It’s a 3-5 minute video highlighting all of your talent and abilities. Over the years we’ve been approached by and worked with at least a dozen production companies trying to sell a show about a psychic family. We’ve come very close, but something always happens and it falls apart.
A large issue is what the networks consider sellable. They think people are solely interested in ghosts, so that’s what they always end up focusing on. When I ask people what they would like to see on a weekly show about a psychic family, their answers are quite different. They want to see everyday interaction between us. What it’s like being psychic or being able to heal someone. They want to know what our home lives are like. What do our spouses/partners think of our work. There’s been so much on television the last few years about ghosts that the people I talk to are pretty much done with that topic and want to learn more about the field of spirituality and the paranormal.
I would love a show where we can teach folks how to develop their psychic gifts, where they can hear and see the truth about ghosts, where people can learn about the gift of healing and what it’s really like living with these abilities. Unfortunately, the latest issue we’ve encountered is that the networks consider me too old to be on TV. They want to find young people that have the same wisdom and knowledge we’ve learned over the last fifty years, and I can’t see how that is going to happen. We have learned so much about this field through trial and error, learning things on our own or with the help of our spirit guides. It’s not the kind of thing you can take a quick class and know all the abc’s of the paranormal. It’s been a very long journey to say the least.
Many years ago a production company from L.A. flew into the Twin Cities and followed us around for a couple of days. They did a fantastic piece on my family that I want to show you. It was truly the best segment any of the production companies have done. Here is a link to that show:
One of my goals for the New Year is to be more active in bringing you helpful information about psychic abilities and development, living by your intuition, the gift of healing, ghosts, the dying process and life after death.
I’m writing this blog because I want to let you know that we have been approached several times about having a TV show. We’ve sat in many brainstorming sessions with producers and writers, signed dozens of contracts and yet nothing has ever come to fruition. I often wonder if the Universe/God isn’t protecting us from that lifestyle. I’ve seen first hand what the entertainment world can do to a person and it’s tough to maintain your integrity. TV show or not, we all continue to do our work. Michael’s website is www.michaelbodine.com, Nikki’s is: www.nikkibodine.com and mine is www.echobodine.com.
Michael has written a book called Growing Up Psychic which gives you a pretty good look into the crazy household we grew up in. Growing up with four psychics in the family was ……….well………..hard to describe. I have written several books on a variety of paranormal subjects available on my website.
Check the calendar on my website for upcoming psychic development classes and a brand new class in February which is an Intuition Support Group. The on-line psychic development class is beginning mid January.
Happy New Year,
