There is something we can do……………..

September 8, 2017

This morning when I heard Irma and Jose are both category 4 storms and Mexico had a 8.1 Earthquake, I sat down and had a short talk with God. What can we do? What can little ol’ me do to help this whole situation. I went to FB and saw this very cool thing. The last five Presidents have gotten together to create a place where we can all send money. I’m cutting and pasting it here. I hope this works because i felt a sense of relief and an answer to prayer. We’ve had so much dissension in this country for the last year and a half and all of these catastrophe’s will hopefully bring us together in a unified way to help our fellow humankind. Similar to all the good that came from 9/11. Here goes:

All five living former presidents of the United States have launched a joint effort to raise money for relief following Hurricane Harvey.

Former Presidents Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama announced their “One America Appeal” to help communities affected by Hurricane Harvey.

A video advertisement starring each of the former presidents is slated to air during the first game of the new NFL season Thursday night.

“Hurricane Harvey brought terrible destruction — but it also brought out the best in humanity,” Clinton says in the video.

“As former presidents, we wanted to help our fellow Americans begin to recover,” Obama says.

“People are hurting down here, but as one Texan put it, ‘We’ve got more love in Texas than water,’ ” George W. Bush, a former governor of Texas, says.

His father, George H.W. Bush, then says, “We love you, Texas.”

The “One America Appeal” website included information on Harvey recovery efforts and offers ways for people to donate to help victims.

A statement announcing the campaign said it will also plan to help victims of Hurricane Irma ahead of its projected landfall in Florida.

“As the nation carefully watches the advance of Hurricane Irma, the presidents stand ready to expand their appeal to help those affected by that storm,” the statement said.
