The Devil DOES Wear Prada

It takes a LOT to get me riled up, but when it does happen, you can pretty much see steam coming out of my head and it happened last night when one of my students sent me the latest post Doreen Virtue put out on her site.

I have spent the last fifty plus years working hard to bring integrity and truth to the psychic profession. It’s been a long, somewhat crazy journey to say the least, but it’s been worth it to see people’s beliefs change and grow in understanding of what the gift of prophecy really is. I can honestly say of all the professional psychics I have met over the years, 90% of them do this work to help others, and most of them have a spiritual (versus a religious) relationship with God. They take their gift seriously and never intend to harm anyone. Sure there’s the 10% that do it for ego and monetary reasons and that’s in every profession.

Most of you that know me personally know that my relationship with Jesus has been the most important relationship in my life. The spirit of Jesus taught me the Gift of Healing and I have pursued his teachings for the last 67 years, starting at age 4. He has been the single most prominent figure in my life.

When someone comes along and tries to convince people that the Gift of Prophesy, which comes from the Holy Spirit according to Corinthians 12:14 in the Bible, is of the devil or evil, well, that turns me inside out. That person is talking out of their ass as far as I’m concerned and it’s infuriating. Stop quoting Deuteronomy or Leviticus and get into the New Testament if you’re going to lay false claim of being a Christian.

These people who say psychics work for the devil are no more an authority of religion than the squirrels in my back yard, yet they love to make it sound like they are. Jesus told all of us to know him in our heart because there will be a lot of false prophets along the way claiming to be him or claiming to know truth. I remember as a little girl feeling really anxious about this because I didn’t want to be fooled or get it wrong. I have found truth in my heart and it is loving and kind, full of joy. None of this nonjudgemental crap that so called Christians like to sling around. (Yes, I consider myself a Christian, but certainly not what Evangelical Christianity is about.)

If you are someone who has the gift of Prophesy, embrace your gift. Don’t try to get rid of it because you’ve been taught it’s evil or of Satan. I do recommend that you develop a spiritual (personal) relationship with God versus religious, which can be very confusing. Religion still doesn’t know what to do with the Gift of Prophesy, so they tend to shy away from talking positively about it or helping people develop this gift. God is going to help you always in discerning your gifts and how they are helpful for people. We do so much more than tell people their futures. OMG, this gift is so much more than that, and Doreen knows that.

I think the best thing we can do for Doreen is to pray for her, that she gets back to her loving self and stop with all this negativity and talk about evil. When someone focuses on the evil versus the goodness, it makes me wonder who they’re really working for.

I guess the Devil really does wear Prada after all.
