STICKER SHOCK

Yesterday at the Aurapalooza I was talking to my friend Numerologist Wes Hamilton about what’s happening in our country right now and he said now we’re experiencing  sticker shock. The sudden awareness after purchasing something of  “what have I done?”

The country is reeling right now. There are millions of Republicans who are happy to see Obama go and happy to see Trump in Office. There are millions of Democrats very sad to see Obama go and miserable to see the current POTUS.  I don’t ever remember a time like this in my lifetime.

I went on Facebook this morning to read some happy posts and instead got a barrage of women now arguing about the Women’s March. Women feeling defensive about not marching and other women being so grateful they were a part of history.  Some of you may have seen the hoopla on my FB page a few days. A woman posted that I had no right to post my political views and should stick to only spiritual matters and then several women after that were defending my honor, so to speak.

What an interesting time we live in. People keep asking me how to handle everything going on.  Most of the psychic people I know are bouncing off walls from all this back and forth, happy/angry energy floating in the Universe. People are feeling very un-grounded because of all the lies and innuendoes on the internet. For many people this is tapping into past life memories of times when there was chaos in the government. People are worried about health care and financial security. Feeling abandoned by their government. And then there are the millions who believe they are hearing the truth and feel just fine about their security and healthcare.

Let’s try looking at this from a positive place, if for no other reason than being able to sleep again and stop living with fear, worry and anxiety.  To start with, this election has woken up the majority of us. We’re paying attention to our government.  We are no longer blindly going through life trusting that everything will be okay. We are now paying attention to everything we are “allowed to see.” We have to remember that our souls chose this time to be here because we will have many “opportunities” to grow by leaps and bounds, emotionally and spiritually. I know it’s a drag to now have to pay attention to even more things, but we can handle it. We’re a lot tougher than we give ourselves credit for. You know what it is? Prioritizing and also listening with our intuition. You’re probably tired of me talking about living by intuition, but it will be my mantra forever.

First things first is that we have to prioritize what is important in our life and what can we let go of. List the top five things in your life that get your energy.  Career/work, Health, Finances,  Home, Relationships of every kind. Then ask yourself what you could change or add to each one of them to feel happier, more fulfilled and content. More grounded and safe. Write down your worries, fears, anxieties about each of them and walk away from it for awhile.

After you’ve gone for a walk or distracted yourself in some way, come back and look at all of the worries, fears and anxieties realistically and put a check by the things you have control over and the things you have no control over. The point I’m trying to get to here is that we have a lot more control than we think we do.  No, I can’t control what Trump is going to do, but my security does NOT depend upon him. There will be a solution to healthcare. There will be a solution to every realistic fear or anxiety you have. The key word being realistic.  So many people I’ve talked to since the election are worried about things that haven’t happened and probably will never happen and I wish they could see the negative effects worry, fear and anxiety energy have on the body. IT’S AWFUL.

Folks, we have to get back to today and STOP projecting all this negativity. Feelings of powerlessness are creating all this negativity in people and many people, for some reason, think that it’s okay to be nasty, name calling, bitchy, snotty, cruel, mean, arrogant assholes and it’s not okay.

Let’s ask the media to give us the straight truth and not be biased by their opinions. Let’s tune in to our intuition each day and ask for guidance for this day alone. Turn off the news if it’s making you sick or creating more fear. Hang with positive people that can see the good in all the situations presented to us and get through this time, stronger than ever. Our security is in our faith and if you don’t have any, GET SOME. Stop looking for anything to judge and criticize. Take the high road. Always take the high road. Trump and his Administration are going to go through just as many changes as the rest of the country, so let’s pray for all of us, that we continually strive to be higher and better people.

Our souls chose this path, so let’s git ‘er dun.

Thank you Echo for sound advice. The media is spreading a lot of false information. No matter what side you are comfortable with (politically) remember that all things change and how we react is a test of our soul. Living on this planet is a test run for us to learn the best way to live with others, compromise, not fall in the trap of making rash decisions because we react emotionally to stimulus without stepping back to fully assess an issue and respect ourselves as well as others. As my pastor use to say, “In Light and Love” – the best to you.

Thanks for your thoughts Echo and Others. People are engaging and as a result surfacing with strong opinions on all sides. It’s ok we’re all part of the human family and clearly a dis-functional one at that. But the adventure of this life continues and we all have our gifts and talents to share. So yes lets git ‘er dun by bring’n our best intentions drop’n them in the ocean of this life and help the world be a better place. One step at a time… one encounter after another.

Thank you Echo, for some sanity around these times.

I am a rare bird in that I am an avowed feminist who finds solace in the election results, as such.

Am glad we (still) live in a country in which we can express ourselves.

Not trolling, and not trying to be critical. FYI the phrase Wes may have meant to use is Buyer’s Remorse – as in what have I done!? (After purchase) Vs. Sticker Shock – WTF this is expensive!! (Before purchase)

    Have a great day!
