In 1872, Mary Ann Pietzker wrote a poem ending in the well known phrase: “Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind?”

In recent years, Franciscan priest and author, Richard Rohr, adapted it to read~

Is it true?

Is it necessary?

Is it loving?

I have found great wisdom in asking this before I say or do anything.

Yesterday, I thought of these questions as I marched with tens of thousands of souls in downtown Minneapolis, protesting the occupation of ICE. The level of anger and passion clearly said YES to all three!

March on in whatever way you are led.

You are Love!
