    Hi Echo

I had every intention to attend the last meditation but when I realized I would be 15 min late I decided it wouldn’t be right to interrupt after the meditation had gone for that long.

The reason I am writing you is my daughter wants to die. She binge drinks until she passes out then ends up in the hospital, 38 times in a year. Now she has been hospitalized for 9 days. They took the tube out of her mouth but she had a hard time breathing on her own so the tube went back in. When the tube was out she managed to say DNR (do not resuscitate) over and over. The hospital doesn’t have any record of it and now they are trying to find out what she did with it. She is now on life support. In the end, I may have to make the decision to let her die or live. She can’t leave the hospital while on suicide watch. If they did let her leave, she would binge drink again and make sure she dies.

Karen wants to join her Dad and Brother. What can I say to her as to what will happen when she dies? Will she actually be with them? She was diagnosed at age 19-20 as a borderline personality disorder. She has put a gun to her head, cut herself, and now binge drinks.

A few weeks ago she wanted to come back to MN and help her daughter and take care of me. She wanted a part time job which she got. She is on Disability so can’t make much money. It’s seems like she does this about the 3rd – 4th week in the month. She is tired of not being able to buy food, soap, toilet paper. She volunteers for the food shelve and they give her things she can’t afford.

It will evidently be up to me to tell the hospital to let her die. My reasoning is she is mentally ill, in pain physically and emotionally.

Echo, what can I say to her? What happens when I person commits suicide?

Her 16 year old daughter and I are leaving July 8 to visit her. If she dies, in 1 1/2 year my family will be cut in half.

    What can I do?
