Intuition: The Coolest Thing We’ve Got Going
I’m sitting here wondering what more I can do to get people to listen to and TRUST their inner voice. I wrote a book called A Still Small Voice, have a radio show called Intuitive Living, have a website called Trust the Voice Within that people can subscribe to for free and join the movement to live by the still small voice inside (intuition). I write blogs, teach classes on intuition and have a DVD on living by intuition.
Intuition is the coolest thing we’ve got going for us and yet millions of people still don’t know what it is.
I get so frustrated with religions that still teach that the only way to God is through the priest, minister or rabbi because that is not the truth.
Friday night on the tv show Blue Bloods was a great example. A character in the show said that God told her that her stepfather killed her mother and everyone’s reactions (except for the main cop) was that she was crazy. They literally made fun of this woman for the rest of the show, even though her clues led to the killer. The character was steadfast in her belief that God spoke to her in spite of all the criticism she received.
The comments that this catholic family had around the dinner table about her were just awful, but it was a great reminder that there are millions of people out there that believe the same way.
The one bummer about the show other than the obvious is that she made it sound like it was a human voice that gave her these answers and she didn’t make any reference to God’s instruction coming from within in a silent voice. That’s what throws people off is the inaccuracies because in spite of how nice it would be to hear God speaking in the tone of voice as James Earl Jones it just doesn’t work like that. God speaks to us in a silent voice inside of our gut, at the core of our soul.
What got me going on all of this is thinking about psychic readings and the questions people ask. So often they simply need to go within for the answers, but they go to a psychic instead. Some examples are the guy who wanted to a reading to find out what kind of car to buy. The woman who wanted to move, but didn’t know where , the man who found out he had cancer all over his body and wanted to know what to do, the teen ager who wanted to know what college to go to.
All of those questions can be answered with intuition but people don’t think to turn to their inner voice for these kinds of answers. I understand the man that has cancer because that is a very emotional issue but intuition will guide him with his treatment and the best decisions for his life’s plan also.
I worry that answering these questions will keep people from developing a relationship with their inner voice so I’ve been getting tougher with people. Saying no to the readings and guiding them to their gut.
I also feel a sense of urgency about this. 2012 is going to be full of surprises. Full of change like J C Penny standing firm in their decision to have Ellen De Generes as their spokesperson and not caving in to people demanding that they get a different spokesperson because they don’t like gay people. We’re going to be seeing alot of good positive changes this year. People are fed up with the same old b.s.
My minister said God’s number is not 911. Don’t just turn to God in times of need. Develop your own special relationship with Him/Her today while life is good. Get a copy of my book, A Still Small Voice and read through it a few times. Practice trusting your inner voice with the little things and gradually you will trust it with the bigger things. The Bible tells us we find God in the Still Small Voice within (Kings 19:11,12).
Join the intuition movement. www.trusthevoicewithin.com and spread the word. It’s the absolute coolest way to live our life. Being guided by that amazing light within.
If you’re feeling a little weak in the spiritual area of your life, get a copy of my book, Look for the Good and You’ll Find God. It’s guaranteed to help you see God in a very positive light without being preachy or religious. And if you have any suggestions as to how I can continue to pass the word, please let me know.
I’d have to agree! I just did a reading and the person said they were working the law of attraction and then in the next sentence they’d sabotage what they just said. If they can’t hear your examples and information, well, I send them love!
Intuition has been associated with “Mother’s intuition and Women’s Intuition.” I suspect because of this connection to women a release of resistance is needed first due to “trust”.
So refreshing to hear someone refer to the still small voice.I especially understood what you mean about people humanising God. I have had many spirits hat have guided me in my life, and have heard their voices and warnings. But it is really coming in tune with that small voice that will prompt you to do something that will guide you to help others, when you didn’t know they needed the help. That is I think very important. If we all did that more, there would be less pain in the world.
I am so glad to have found your blog! Can’t wait to read more. :)Please keep it up.
So, I’m curious…In light of the power of our intuition, especially when we learn to listen, what kinds of questions would be appropriate for a psychic reading? Would there be a role for psychics if everyone listened to and followed their intuition?
Thanks.
