Shoulds versus Intuition

I was standing in my yard at the beginning of October telling myself I better get going on getting read for winter and I heard my inner voice say “you’ve got time.” Hmmm. That was an interesting message since October’s always the month to “git er dun”. I got quiet in my head and asked my inner voice how much time I had and I heard Nov. 15^th. WHAT????? Normally it should all be done by November 15^th. Everything put away for the winter, but I checked a second time and got the same date.

Imagine my surprise when it snowed here in the Twin Cities on October 31st. Had I heard the date wrong? Were we already heading into winter? Quieting my mind, I asked again and heard the same date. Nov. 15^th. My inner voice said the snow was temporary and not ready to dump buckets of the white stuff. I reminded myself my intuition has never been wrong about the weather so I went about my life knowing I had time.

For those of you who don’t live in the Upper Midwest, trusting the weather after the middle of October can be iffy. Our heads come up with all kinds of “shoulds” about being prepared for winter. Here we are heading into the middle of November and this week the temps are in the 60’s. Yup. On November 15^th they are predicting 60-degree weather. I’ve been curious about that particular date wondering if that meant on the 16^th we will get a bunch of snow, but it’s going to be in the sixties all week. I asked my inner voice why it gave me that specific date and it said that I would be having company from the 16^th on and would be very busy after the 15^th. Sure as shooting, the company is coming from out of town on the 16^th and my schedule is filling up fast after that.

Living this way of life is the most fun a girl can have. Intuition is like having the key to knowledge of everything. I hope you’re living intuitively. You’ll get all the answers you need. Maybe not when you think you need them, but you will always get direction, guidance and answers when you REALLY NEED THEM. Timing is another thing. There’s our timing and divine timing. Divine timing is being in the right place at the right time. It really is magical.
