16 Misconceptions About Psychics

I’ve published this list of 16 Misconceptions About Psychics in my book The Gift, and I thought you’d enjoy seeing it again. What would YOU add to the list?

  1. We can read people’s minds.
  2. We’re all vegetarians.
  3. We can see our own futures easily.
  4. We know everything going on in the world.
  5. We wear hoop earrings, lots of scarves, all have black cats and gaze into our crystal balls.
  6. We can all see ghosts.
  7. We can all communicate with the deceased.
  8. That we know people’s secrets.
  9. That we don’t have drama cause we know everything, that we have it all figured out.
  10. That we should work for free because of our gifts.
  11. That it comes naturally and we don’t have to work on our gifts.
  12. People put us on pedestals because they think we’re really close to God…
  13. …or that we work for Satan.
  14. That we’re all frauds.
  15. That we’re all going to hell for doing this work.
  16. That these gifts can’t be learned. They come naturally.

THe discussion about practice being evil was very important to hear. I live in the bible belt. My moma was excentric and psychic and her powers were not always used for good but rather for critique with rare boundry. It was frightening for a child who also had healing and suspected psychic ability, which made for burial and denial of such.

Sisters for soul piece on this page, is not impressive for skeptics. It sounds silly and lacks integrity heard in your voice.

On sugar. I too am an addict and have detoxed with help of Healthy weight advantage and a product by HMR. Researched and used in medical centers. Works!! Have a nursing history and have read about brain disease and sugar. My mom too was an addict and i believe it contributed to her lewy body disease wh eventually killed her. Wonder about the relationship of sugar and psychic ability??

Off to vaca for two wks. Will read while away. Later, new friend. Glad to find you

You forgot about howling at a full moon. Just kidding. As for psychics being paid….we (if we are wise) all use our gifts to create income. Much love to you.

  3. Great list of myths. Just had beautiful healing and dramatic shifts with a client over two sessions and she thanked me profusely. Then, an afterthought email from the person ‘that I had to prove my angels only believe in Christ’ which I’m not sure any proof would have been heard, it followed by another email, that my angels were not of God. I’m like . . . what???? Talk about fear of change rearing its head ; )). Sometimes you just have to laugh at the myths and all the fear engendered to such the beautiful process of healing.

  4. My grandmother recently passed away and I have been missing her dearly and I wish I knew what she needed me to do in life. I have always been a little skeptical about seeing a medium but feel like it is worth it. This helped clear up many misconceptions and concerns I had about them.
